Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of DJing a fantastic wedding for Nicole and Johnnie, a couple whose family events I’ve had the honor of being part of in the past. Naturally, I was super excited when they chose DJ Live to handle their big day!
The wedding took place at The Barn at Villa Venezia. This modern-style barn venue in Middletown, New York, specializes in weddings and offers a picturesque backdrop for any celebration.
With both sides of the family being of Italian heritage, I knew this wedding was going to be a blast. Nicole and Johnnie contracted us to provide music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. We set up a sound system and microphone for the ceremony, which took place outside in a stunning countryside setting. The officiant’s words rang clear, and the music added a touch of magic to their vows.
As the ceremony concluded, guests moved inside for the cocktail hour. We had a photo booth ready and music waiting to keep the energy flowing. Classic tunes from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, like “That’s Amore,” set the perfect scene for a warm and inviting Italian wedding.
The reception was held in the ballroom, where we pulled out all the stops with our DJ setup. We had sound, lighting, percussion, sparklers, smoke effects, a custom gobo with the bride and groom’s names on the dance floor, and large “Mr. and Mrs.” letters along the wall. The introduction of the bride and groom was made to Mötley Crüe’s “Kickstart My Heart,” which truly kickstarted the celebration!
The bride and groom, along with all their guests, danced the night away. We even did the Tarantella, and the bride and groom were lifted in chairs, adding a fun and traditional touch to the festivities. The party was so lively that we ended up going an hour overtime. One of the highlights of the evening was when the best man and his girlfriend caught the garter and bouquet. Who knows? Maybe they’ll be the next wedding we DJ!
Until next time,
