A Winter Wonderland Wedding at Brotherhood Winery

On December 22, I had the pleasure of DJing a magical winter wedding at the historic Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville for Michaela & Gavin. The bride had hoped for a mild December day for an outdoor ceremony, but Mother Nature had other plans. A fresh snowfall that morning created a stunning winter backdrop—perfect for the season’s charm, even though it meant moving the ceremony indoors.

As seasoned professionals, we were prepared for the change. The ceremony was held in the main ballroom, with chairs arranged on the dance floor facing a beautifully decorated space where the bride, groom, and officiant stood. Once the ceremony concluded, guests moved to the cozy bar area for the cocktail hour while my team and I transitioned the room for the reception.

The bride had arranged for a talented saxophone player to entertain during the cocktail hour, which added a festive touch. We set up a speaker to play holiday music while he performed, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Meanwhile, my team set up the ballroom with sound, lighting, drums, and the saxophone equipment for the night’s entertainment.

This wedding was packed with memorable moments and impressive details. The bride and groom fully embraced the holiday theme, bringing in a Christmas tree, a sleigh, and even Santa Claus, who handed out gifts to the children. Santa also delivered presents to each table, which tied into a delightful group activity where every table sang a part of The 12 Days of Christmas. The energy and laughter during this moment were unforgettable!

Musically, the couple loved a mix of classic rock, oldies, and nostalgic tunes, including hits from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. One standout moment was when the bride and groom recreated the iconic lift from the movie—it was a joy to see their happiness radiate throughout the room.

The dance floor was packed all night, with the bride and groom’s friends and family leading the celebration. Both the bride and her dad made surprise appearances on the drums, adding a personal and energetic touch to the evening.

A big shoutout to Trish and Frank from InnCredible Caterers, who once again delivered an exceptional experience with their impeccable presentation and service.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season! If you’re looking to create a wedding as magical as this one, feel free to reach out. Brotherhood Winery provides a breathtaking venue, and I’d love to help make your day just as special.
