When you’re searching for a wedding venue in New York City, it’s hard to overlook the stunning Marina Del Rey. As their website says, “We are the premiere event venue for weddings, celebrations, corporate events, and more. For over 30 years, our family-owned business has provided incredible service and fine cuisine in a stunning waterfront location.” I’ve been working at Marina Del Rey for years, and I can confidently say they live up to every word.

From the moment I first spoke to Lindsay and Sergio back in January, I knew this wedding was going to be something special. They are such a fun and vibrant couple, and their energy was contagious. We were contracted to provide music for the cocktail hour, and they chose live keyboard music played by the incredibly talented Ronnie. He set the perfect tone with his Frank Sinatra-style instrumentals, creating an elegant yet lively atmosphere that perfectly matched the guests, who were mostly Italian and Portuguese.

Inside the ballroom, our setup was significant: sound, overhead lighting, drums, sparklers, and a photo booth. As the cocktail hour ended and guests made their way into the dining room, I could feel the excitement building. There was a buzz in the air that promised an unforgettable night.

We hit the sparklers for Lindsay and Sergio’s grand entrance, making it nothing short of spectacular. Early on, I was let in on a little secret—the parents of the bride and groom had arranged a surprise fireworks display out on the patio. The anticipation was electric, and when the fireworks finally lit up the night sky, it was truly one of the highlights of the evening.

After the father of the bride delivered a heartfelt speech, we invited all the guests outside to witness the fireworks. It was an incredible treat and a moment that will be remembered for years to come. The celebration didn’t stop there—when everyone returned to the ballroom, the party continued with some traditional Portuguese music and dancing, which really brought the room to life.

The photo booth was a hit, with guests having a blast capturing memories. A personal highlight for me was seeing my 17-year-old daughter, who I brought along as the photo booth attendant, laughing and interacting with a longtime friend and maître d’, Joe, at Marina Del Rey. It was a touching moment that added even more warmth to an already special night.

It was also nice to work with Silvio Martone, the photographer, who I’ve known for a long time and who does amazing work. It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with professionals who know what they’re doing and consistently produce a great product. Be sure to check out his incredible work on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/the_silvio.martone/

As always, the food and ambiance at Marina Del Rey were second to none, thanks to the incredible staff who truly make dreams come true with every event they host.

Lindsay and Sergio’s wedding was a night filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Check out this quick edit of just some of the fun!
