Event Recap: Francesca and Andrew’s Halloween-Themed Wedding at Marina del Rey
On October 28, 2023, Marina del Rey in the Bronx, NY, witnessed a celebration like no other as Francesca and Andrew tied the knot in spectacular fashion. As the sun set over the waterfront event space in Throgs Neck, the stage was set for a night of love, laughter, and spine-tingling excitement.
Marina del Rey, renowned for its gorgeous waterfront setting, provided the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable occasion. Their website proudly boasts of offering stunning event spaces for weddings and other special events, and it certainly lived up to its reputation on this magical evening.
Francesca and Andrew, the radiant couple of the night, brought together a young and energetic crowd ready to dance the night away. As the DJ entrusted with setting the mood, I knew this wedding was going to be something special, even though it wasn’t a DJ Live gig. Instead, I was subcontracted by my former company, Jimmy Dee, which I sold to the new owner, Alex. It’s always an honor to be called upon to work for other companies, and it speaks volumes about trust and professionalism in the industry. Having done Alex’s wedding myself, collaborating with my old company from time to time is a testament to the strong professional relationships forged over the years.
The festivities kicked off with a bang as concert-style lighting, swirling smoke, pulsating percussion, and top-notch sound enveloped the venue. The dance floor beckoned, and the crowd answered with gusto, dancing into the night with infectious energy.
But what truly set this wedding apart was the creative Halloween theme. With the wedding taking place in the last week of October, Francesca had a brilliant idea to infuse some spooky fun into the celebration. Halfway through the night, the groomsmen disappeared, only to reappear in meticulously crafted costumes, reminiscent of a scene from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” As the iconic song filled the air and the dance floor was blanketed in eerie smoke, it was a moment of pure delight and surprise for everyone present.
In honor of Francesca’s Italian heritage, we also treated guests to a lively Italian dance set, which was met with enthusiastic cheers and applause. It was a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity, perfectly encapsulating the couple’s love story.
As the night drew to a close, and the echoes of laughter and music filled the air, one thing became abundantly clear: Francesca and Andrew’s wedding was a celebration for the ages. And I, for one, am grateful to have played a part in making their special day truly unforgettable.
